On a rainy, cloudy and rather cool day, 139 runners braved the weather to complete the 5 Kilometre course in Battersea Park. Sophie Harris was the first lady home in a scorching 16:33!!! Nichlas Buckle was the overall winner in 15:35. Congratulations to all who participated. We have a few weeks break now: our next Monday race is on 8th July.
On a fresh and breezy evening 114 runners competed in the Speedy Steeds 5K. Christian Grierson crossed the finish line first in 15:50. Lily Woolcock was the first woman to finish in 18:57. There was an impressive turn out for the Vet 70 race which was won by John Quaintance and there were two runners over 80. Congratulations to all the runners! On the first day of June, and a day that feels like the first real day of summer, 143 runners lined up at the start line at the Bandstand in Battersea Park. Steve Woolley was alone out front and finished in 33:08. Rose Penfold won the Ladies race in 37:20. Congratulations to Joe Aspinall (age 81) who ran 61:03. On a mild summer's evening 90 runners lined up to run our first 5K of 2019. It was a Bank Holiday and Battersea Park was full of people. William Woodcock came in first in 15:32. Rose Penfold was the first lady home in 17:59. Congratulations to all the runners.
On a dry and pleasant Spring morning 126 runners completed the 10K course in Battersea Park. Ben MacCronan recorded the fourth ever fastest time on this course - 31:09. Jane Vongvorachoti recorded an amazing 36:55 to win the Ladies race. Well done to all the runners.
On a windy, overcast day which well reflects the turbulent Brexit negotiations we began our 2019 season of races with the Mad March 10K. 137 runners completed the course. Ben MacCrowen crossed the line first in 32:05. Congratulations to all the runners. We look forward to seeing you all again throughout the year.
The last race of the year ..... On a wet but mild Saturday morning we cheered on all the I-won't-be-put-off-by-the-elements runners as they raced our last 10K of the year. Jonny Earl not only won the race but smashed his PB with 31:52- Congratulations! We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2019.
On a crisp autumn morning 185 runners completed the 10 kilometre course in beautiful Battersea Park. Jim Allchin came home first in 31:42 and Rose penfold was the first lady in 37:39. Congratulations to all runners.
Our last Monday evening race of the summer attracted 251 runners. The weather has cooled off a little but it is still humid and there was a great atmosphere as the runners lined up at the start. Nicolas Besson was the first person home in 15:54. Lucy Werthem was the first lady in 18:21. We had finishers in the Under 16 age category, Brandon Morrell in 18:14 and Margot Thomas in 19:50. We very happy to welcome Richard Pitcairn-Knowles, 85 years of age, who completed the course in 33:16. Congratulations to all the runners, especially those like Edwin Bartlett who competed in every Monday evening race this season. We look forward to seeing everyone at our October Golden Leaf 10K on Saturday 27th October at 8.30am.
On yet another perfect summer evening 150 runners completed the course. 13 year old Brandan Morrell finished in 18:17. The fastest time was clocked by Andy Greenleaf in 15:10 and Rachel Robinson was the first lady home in 17:01. Congratulations to all the runners.
On a perfect summer's morning 121 runners completed the Sri Chinmoy Green Space 10K. Our course record was smashed by the winner: Malcolm Hicks from New Zealand finished in a breathtaking 29 minutes 41 seconds. Malcolm is training for the Berlin Marathon - so good luck Malcolm! Our next 10K is on October 27th. Congratulations to all the runners who took part today.
175 teams competed in this year's Battersea Relays. Congratulation to Highgate Harriers for storming in first with a team time of 13:25. Well done all teams!
On a beautiful evening in Battersea Park, with the summer heat abating a bit just in time for the start, 150 runners charged round the course dispelling the lazy early evening haze. Congratulations to all! Rick Weston brought it home in 15:37 for Serpentine, whilst Nicola Timmins of Tri London recorded 18:43 to place 1st Woman. Mike Mann narrowly missed his course record of last week in the Vet 70 category but still recorded an impressive 22:05
On a gorgeous summer evening in Battersea Park, 134 runners completed the 5K course. Serpentine RC took first and second place and Ellen Downs of Sale Harriers was the first lady home. Congratulations to all the runners.
The summer weather just keeps getting better and better. On a perfect summer evening, in the glorious environs of Battersea Park, 146 runners completed the Dashing Deer 5K. Sage Pearce-Higgins came in first in 15:57 followed closely by Jamie Seddon. Rachel Robinson was the first woman home in 17:12 - 9th place overall! We had 13 runners in the Men Vet 60 category and Cliff Collins (81 years of age) completed the course in 28:01. Congratulations to all who participated. We have a short break now, but in 3 weeks we will be back with more Monday evening races starting on Monday 16th July. On 30th July we have our annual 3 x 1 mile relay - so start forming a team!

While England were playing their first game in the World Cup, 135 runners turned up to run Sri Chinmoy Speedy Steeds 5K in Battersea Park. John McDonnell came in first in 15:26. Jackie Skinner was the first lady home in 17:55. Congratulations to all the runners!
On a warm sunny evening we started our summer series of Monday races. The Rapid Rabbit 5K attracted 248 runners. Sophie Harris from Belgrave Harriers set a new course record with 16.34!!!! Robel Bahlebi was the winner in 14.49. We had winners in the Vet 70 categories and Cliff Collins (81 years old) ran 28.49. Congratulations to all the runners!
On an overcast morning, in perfect conditions, 180 runners crossed the finish line in the Mad March 10K. Andy Maud won the race in 31.59. The Ladies race was well contested with Jackie Skinner winning one second ahead of Amy Clements. Jackie's time was 38.03. Well done to all the runners!
Our first race of 2018 was attended by 131 enthusiastic runners on a splendid Spring day. The sun was shining brightly as Hugo Blatge stormed into the finish chute in 33:30. Melissa Gibson won the Ladies race in 39:52. Our next race is a 10K on Saturday 24th March. See you there!
