Despite the dramatic storm that saw us all huddling in the tent minutes before the race was due to begin, some forty one runners made it to the start line for the Self-Transcendence 5k.
Westbury's John Collier was a convincing winner, but second placed Gavin Watkins of GWR looks set to win the series if he competes in the next event.
In the ladies race, Louise Cronin got her second win of the series, with Sandra Brown from Severn AC in second.
As well as the usual strong turnout from GWR, it was great to see other clubs represented including the Sole Sisters, Weston AC, Poole AC, Chepstow Harriers and a trio from Severn AC.
Next race is the two miler on July 3rd, with the fast-and-fun 3 x 1 mile relay a week later.
