Results of Self Transcendence 5k race held on 26 April 2006 at Silverknowes, Edinburgh

The 2006 Self Transcendence Summer Race Series in Edinburgh got off to a sunny start on April 26. A beautiful sunny evening on the esplanade by the River Forth at Silverknowes was the venue for the first 5k event of the summer.

Don Naylor of Hunters Bog Trotters, not content with running 2.30 at London Marathon on the Sunday, cruised around the flat course in 15.22 to show his recovery is going well. He finished ahead of newcomer to the area, Zac Bouchenka (Portobello) with Brian Turner (Arbroath) third. Christine Milne of Lothian Running Club was a comfortable ladies victor. The men's team prize was won by City of Edinburgh with Sean Wilkinson (5th); Rob Riddell (6th) and Adam Ward (7th). City of Edinburgh's also claimed the women's team prize with Cath Ferry, Kim Threadgall and Junior Lauren Stoddart picked up the women's team prize.
