We had showers at the start but conditions cleared up to allow our 34 duathletes to take the rather technical course at high speed. Two came close to challenging our men's course record, which is exceptional on a damp road in a swirling breeze. Times were fast from first to last with everyone finishing in under an hour. First woman to finish was Rachel Burnside in 47.14, a couple of minutes ahead of her nearest challengers Lucy Gardner (2nd) and Ali Jones (3rd). In an impressive men's race Joe Pritchard comfortably beat his previous time on the course to record an excellent 37:35, with Lee Winter 2nd just 3 seconds behind him and Chris Mills coming third with 38:46. The attached results are provisional so please contact us if you have any queries. That's all for our Bristol races this season, the Sri Chinmoy races carry on in London & Edinburgh through the winter and also throughout the world from Mongolia to Macedonia, so do check out our race website if you go off on any international travels - there might be a race at your destination! Thanks and hope to see you next year - 2019 race dates should be finalised and online before the end of September.

A lower turnout than usual today but a high quality field and some lovely racing conditions - those who made it to Tockington were rewarded with a firm and freshly-mown sports field for the run and clear, sunlit roads for the ride.
Former winners triumphed in both categories with Chris Mills taking 1st place in the mens' race in a time of 39:51 and Kirstie Hallam (Almost Athletes - cheltenham) first woman to finish in 48:02.
Provisional results are attached, please let me know of any errors/queries asap as they will soon be uploaded to the GO TRI website.
Thanks to all the athletes and also all the marshals who made today's race happen.
Photos will be on our gallery page as soon as we can compile them from various cameras and phones!
Next duathlon - 9th September :)

Men:
Joe Prichard - 39.16, Chris Mills - 40.28, Martyn Green - 40.46
Provisional results are in the attached file, please get in touch if any queries. As usual a photo gallery will be uploaded within 24 hours of the event to http://ukgallery.srichinmoyraces.org/Bristol/ - if anyone has any photos or video they are happy to share please email us a link and we'll get it on our gallery.
Next race is our Swim-Run at the end of April - another GO TRI event for which there are still a handful of places available.
Thanks to everyone who took part and to Alan Jones for coming along to marshal the Pilning junction - cheers!
