There was a welcome return after a 3 year covid enforced break for our popular 3 x 1 mile relays on Wednesday 6th July .
53 teams towed the start line with Corstorphine AAC’s Tom Martin leading the way after leg 1 in 4.24 from Lasswade’s Junior team led off by Alistair Scott in 4.35 and EAC’s Mac’s Mark McDiarmont in 3rd, 4.36.
Jack Eykelbosch maintained CAAC's lead after leg 2 with 9.06 cumulative (4.38 split) from EAC’s Gavin Cooney 9.16 (4.40 split) with Jamie Greig bringing Fife into third in 9.24 (4.44)
Ewan Brown with a 4:39 split anchored Corstorphine home in 13:45.
In a sprint finish for 2nd EAC’s Ross Dewar (4:42) just held off Fife’s fast finishing Ryan Lafferty ( 4:34 split )
In the women’s race Nancy Scott brought EAC’s Merry Milers home on leg 1 (5:14 from CAAC’s Kirsty MacAaulay (5.24). Anise Macaulay-Orr maintained EAC’s lead with a 5:07 split Kirstin Maxwell with 5:24 kept Corstorphine in second with a 5:26 leg .
Leg 3 saw Katie Johnson run an5:22 split to bring EAC home in 15:43 comfortably ahead of Corstorphine who Beth Garland home in 16.07 with a 5:17 split
The TRI works team were 3rd in 16:43,
1st U/20 team Lasswade AC Alistair Scott ,Sam Kitchin and Andrew McWilliam. 14:37
1st V/50 Men’s team Edinburgh AC Malcolm Parry , Dave Cross and Michael Fullerton. 6:32 1st V/50 Women’s team Elaine Davies, Sharon Ramage and Janet Dunbar 19:07.
